Piper is a Female Great Pyrenees/Shepherd Dog for adoption to a very loving home in or near Cochrane, AB. This very special Dog is 1 Yr years old and weighs about 80 lbs.
She is a very big friendly dog that loves to get outside and exercise. She still has a lot of “”puppy” in her personality at only 1 year old, and has wonderful potential as a family dog or companion for somebody who can spend lots of time with her, keep up when she wants to run or play, and can offer her the exercise and training that she needs. Health issues are making it difficult for the current owner to offer this beautiful large dog all that she needs in terms of exercise and a steadying physical influence who can calm the playfulness when she needs calming down.

Somebody who has a place with a fenced yard and time to take her out for walks or play fetch will be a perfect home for Piper. She would not be a good choice for a home with small kids for the next year or so as she matures and gets over her clumsy exuberance. She is a special dog with striking good looks and the potential to be an amazing pet, she just needs the right situation to finish her growing up.

Piper is being placed for adoption by owner for the following reason:
I have a right shoulder (permanent) injury and cannot walk her as she weighs almost as much as I do. We recently took her to the dog park and she chased a young boy around and tore his coat. I believe she intended to play with him, but could have just as easily hurt him. We have very young grandchildren at our home regularly and are concerned as she tries to ‘herd’ them too. We feel that we are out of our pay grade and do not have the skills (and yard) to adequately provide what she needs.

There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies and veterinary records will be included.
