Maine Coon Cat named – Oscar Mayer 10 years old, declawed and the sweetest personality you've ever met in a cat. His stunning eyes, lush fur and charming personality will win you over immediately. He was declawed when he was young and rescued by a vet. He was adopted with his brother “Cheddar Bob” as kittens and have been loved every minute since then.
Together for 9 years, Oscar has had a rough time adjusting after Bob became suddenly ill last year with a cancer and died a short time later. Oscar's owner has to travel often for work, and just a few months ago, the owner's daughter moved into the same house along with a young dog that makes Oscar nervous. He has gone from being king of the house to spending too much time alone or hiding from noisy visitors from the basement apartment.
As a result, Oscar has been showing signs of extra need for attention. He sleeps on his owner’s pillow or even on her head in order to be close and he meets her at the door any time that she has to go out.
He’s also tried to avoid younger children too. (7 years old). So the hope is that we can find a new home where he can have people around and no other pets or young kids to startle him.
Oscar’s owner is also looking at a possible need to move to a smaller place when the Covid situation is over and wants Oscar to be set up in a nice place with somebody around who can give him the time and attention that he misses.
His personality is very affectionate. As his owner says:
” Maine Coons are generally friendly anyway but my kitty brothers would purr all the time, love just being with you and are curious and talkative too when they are really happy and relaxed. They’d come when you call them and just want to give love and affection. Oscar has been a little more needy since we lost his brother, and has taken to sleeping on my pillow or on my head at night to be close to me.”
I don’t mind it but if you have any cat allergies, you may want to make certain that he is OK for you – chances are that he’ll want to snuggle after he gets to know you.
He is an indoor cats and was declawed when neutered at 12 weeks of age. It hasn’t been a problem .
I’d like to find a home where Oscar could be in a more social/family environment with people around more often. He loves to play and be a part of the family – and they will also disappear at times for a nap/solitude. Right now they are in a single family home with the run of the house where I have a sun room and an 8 foot tall Kitty Condo he can relax on. Maine Coons are also intrigued by and love running water so I have a water bowl fountain that flows constantly to invite him to drink whenever he wants.
Can you offer this adorable distinctive Maine Coon Cat a home?
There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee to adopt Oscar Mayer. Supplies and veterinary records will be included.
